GF’s partnership with Swissloop, established in 2023, has proven to be a powerful blend of innovative hyperloop technology and our extensive expertise in manufacturing and engineering.
Held in Zurich, Switzerland, from July 17 to 21, Hyperloop Week 2024 brought together 400 participants and more than 20 competing teams. Attendees witnessed live demonstrations of pods, tracks, and innovative subsystems, providing a firsthand look at the groundbreaking technologies shaping the future of transportation.
Teams competed in a series of rigorous tests, showcasing their advancements in speed, efficiency, and safety. Swissloop performed strongly in several categories, securing third place in the Complete System Award, which recognizes "a fully functional Hyperloop prototype excelling in every aspect of system integration and performance".
The team also received the Vacuum Award and the Most Scalable Design Award — two of Swissloop’s key goals this year. "We won the Most Scalable Design award at EHW (European Hyperloop Week) with GF castings playing a significant role in the construction of the passenger cabin," said Calvin Rüegg, Swissloop's Operations & Sponsoring Lead.
Swissloop’s latest pod features groundbreaking advancements in magnetic levitation and propulsion systems. The pod was designed for maximum efficiency and speed, incorporating lightweight materials and state-of-the-art engineering.
