In today’s business landscape, sustainability is a core component of long-term strategy and success. Companies worldwide are now being held to a higher standard when it comes to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. One of the most respected benchmarks of environmental performance is CDP. In the latest CDP assessment, GF has earned an “A” score for climate change for the second year in a row and an “A-” for water security, strengthening the company’s sustainability leadership.
GF has long been committed to environmental stewardship, recognizing that the future of business is closely tied to the health of the planet. Achieving top CDP scores represents the culmination of years of hard work, investment, and innovation in sustainability practices. The most recent Sustainability Statement (as part of the Annual Report 2024) provides more in-depth information about GF’s climate strategy, as well as its focus on carbon reduction and water and energy efficiency.
Sustainability is an ongoing journey. GF remains committed to further reducing its environmental impact and advancing its climate goals. This includes expanding the use of renewable energy, further improving the sustainability of its supply chain, and continuing to engage with stakeholders on environmental issues.
What is CDP?
CDP is an international non-profit organization that runs the global disclosure system for environmental impacts. Each year, thousands of companies, cities, and regions disclose their environmental data to CDP, which evaluates and rates their performance based on various criteria such as climate action, transparency, and leadership.
An A rating from CDP is the highest possible score, awarded to organizations that demonstrate exceptional leadership in environmental action and commitment to addressing climate change. It is a reflection of a company’s transparency in disclosing their environmental impact and their ongoing efforts to reduce it.
