Over 450 GF employees, customers and partners joined the 2024 GF Walk for Water in Schaffhausen to raise awareness and funds for communities around the world struggling with limited access to safe drinking water.
A walk with purpose
According to the World Health Organization, more than 2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water daily. Organized by the GF Water Foundation, the GF Walk for Water raises funds to provide safe water access and protect vulnerable communities worldwide, helping those in need improve water security and resource management.
Like in previous years, participants were asked to collect a bucket of water at a designated point and carry it for two kilometers, symbolizing the long distances many must walk to access basic water resources.
The event also served as a reminder of the importance of the work we do at GF, especially our innovations in water conservation and safe transport.
GF Walk for Water goes global
This year’s event in Schaffhausen saw participants from all departments and divisions walking together. Each step symbolized GF's commitment to providing sustainable solutions for global challenges.
GF employees across the globe will continue to hold their own Walk for Water events over the next few weeks.
This year, there are 18 locations across four continents holding GF Walk for Water events. Through this initiative, we reinforce the spirit within our company—coming together as one team, walking for a common cause, and making a lasting difference.
